DSC India Summit 2019
I, Rishwi Thimmaraju DSC Lead at Anurag Group of Institutions attended DSC summit with all the 183 leads in the country. It was Fun, Didactic, Great and to put it in one word - it's was AWESOME. I've been to the summit for three days which was on 23rd, 24th, and 25th of August 2019. Summit was held at Leela The Beach Resort in a Goa, one of the most vibed places in India by all the students. Now let us look back the three days of the summit.
Day 1(Departure day): 23-08-2019

Leads from all over the country reached goa sporadically and as soon as we reached Leela we were welcomed with a garland and were surrounded by people singing a welcome song. This created a sparkling first impression for all the leads. We all had lunch while networking with each other. After the lunch, there was a small talk on Design Thinking followed by an activity which will illustrate all steps of the design thinking process were in all the leads were randomly divided into teams and the first task was to build a tower using 20 spaghetti sticks and one marshmallow lying on top of the tower. The team who built the highest tower were titled as winners.
Then DSC Global program manager Erica Hanson and other members of the team inaugurated the summit with cake cutting. Then Erica spoke a few motivating and graceful words.
After the inauguration of the event, all the leads checked in their rooms. The night view of the Leela was mind-boggling.
As soon as we got settled in rooms allocated to us we were invited to dinner and to network with other DSC Leads. We spent time talking, playing games, eating. I couldn't sleep for the whole night.
Day 2: (Main Event): 24-08-2019

All the Leads were given T-shirts representing DSC brand Logo on them. Also some badges to with his/her name on it. As a morning exercise, we had Zumba that morning. It was so fun and also filled us with energy the whole day. After the Zumba, all the leads are requested to fresh up and quickly assemble in the hall for the sessions lined up. We then quickly had breakfast and rushed to the main event which included great talks, erudite sessions, panel discussion and the continuation of design thinking which we started on the previous day. Talks were given in fields like Machine Learning, Web, Cloud ...etc.
After the sessions and talks, there was a panel discussion. DSC program members participated in it and answered few FAQ's about communities, Technologies, Career paths ...etc. The panel discussion was interesting where we got to hear the real-life situations and problems of people in words of the panel members.
In lunchtime, we got time to speak with Erika Hanson DSC Program manager. She was very generous and eminent.
After the end of design thinking activity, we wrapped up and went to the beach for the photo session. We had a good photoshoot with drones.
The Gala Dinner:
After all these interactive, intelligible and knowledgeable sessions there was entertainment the whole night. The entertainment was titled as gala dinner.
We had a perfect dinner with many entertainments and fun stuff like dance, DJ. After that, we spent time at the pool and on the beach. This puts an end to the second day.
Day 3: (The End): 25-08-2019
----------------------------------------The morning we played games on the beach. Then after a few talks summit was wrapped up and everyone was leaving back to their respective states and cities. Before leaving every one of us got the most awaited stuff(Goodies).

There were so many learnings, so many takeaways, so many memories that we had those three days. I can't find words to describe the entire thing in one sentence. But I can show u one picture which can give you a glimpse of what it's like to be in a community like DSC. Scroll down for the glimpse.
